Professional Sync Pitching Standards

To pitch music for film, TV, video games, or commercials, independent creators must adhere to strict, professional standards of delivery. Music supervisors receive hundreds of pitches a day and will instantly discard files with incomplete metadata or confusing rights structures.

1. The "One-Stop" Standard A track is considered "One-Stop" if one single entity controls 100% of the Master and 100% of the Composition rights, allowing the music supervisor to clear the entire song in a single transaction. If a track has co-writers, co-producers, or multiple labels, you must obtain written pre-clearance or represent the track as a unified agency to pitch it as "One-Stop."

2. Strict ID3 Tagging Rules Deliver files as 320kbps MP3s with the following ID3 tags embedded: - Title: Song Title (e.g., *"Shattered Dreams (One-Stop)"*) - Artist: Artist Name - Album: Album or Single Release Title - Grouping: Write "One-Stop" or detail publisher/master ownership percentages. - Composer: Full legal names of songwriters and their PRO affiliation / IPI numbers (e.g., *"Johnathan Doe (BMI #123456789) - 50% / Jane Smith (ASCAP #987654321) - 50%"*). - Comments: Embed direct, active contact details (email and phone number) and indicate if instrumental and acapella mixes are available.

3. Standard Delivery Assets Always maintain high-resolution assets in a secure, shared cloud folder (such as Dropbox or Box, never as attachments): - Full Mix: The final master. - Instrumental Mix: The master track with lead vocals completely removed (critical for dialogue scenes). - Acapella Mix: The vocal tracks isolated. - Stems: Separated subgroup tracks (Drums, Bass, Synths, Vocals) for custom editing on set.
